Hello, my name is Delana. I’m a Kentucky-girl with a passion for wellness. I’m into anything food, fitness and positive living. My Home-cooked Life was created out of my affinity to crave and whip up delicious home-cooked meals. I like to keep things simple so meal planning helps keep my busy life a healthy one, too!
Things I love: meal prepping, home-cooked meals, fitness, my two rescue dogs Mia and Lucy, dark chocolate, a glass of red wine, a spoon full of almond butter on anything, hiking, road trips, and a good book!
My food philosophy is: Real food is r e a l good. I ascribe to the thinking, “Let food be thy medicine and let medicine by thy food.” Thank you, Hippocrates. Food as a healing agent is not a new way of thinking, in fact, it’s very rooted in our ancestry. I believe that food has the power to heal from the inside-out. For me, it has healed everything from my decade-long battle with skin issues, improved my sleep, physical performance and digestion.
I’m all about testing new approaches to wellness, trying new recipes, and giving new fitness classes a spin (no pun intended). Heck, I’ll even try cleansing my house of bad mojo if it’ll keep zapping, negative energy at bay (stay tuned for this). But it all circles back to the spirit of feeling your best and giving your body the attention and love it deserves. It is my hope that through this blog I can inspire you to take one action that improves your health today.
